Intercontinental Park Lane Uniform Conve

CASE STUDY

INTERCONTINENTAL HOTELS GROUP

Background

InterContinental London Park Lane required a conveyor system that was able to handle in the region 3000 items in their uniform room, whilst generating more available space to allow for the sorting of garments.

Solution

Jason Alexander from Metalprogetti UK visited the client’s site to undertake an initial site survey, concluding that InterContinental required a bespoke conveyor system, due to the available space and ceiling height of the room.

In response, Metalprogetti UK was able to redesign the motor control system of their conveyor solution in order to meet their requirements.

It was also important to InterContinental that the new facility reduced the amount of time staff were spending looking for their uniforms. With this in mind, Metalprogetti UK implemented a delivery point on the conveying system, making it easier for staff members to access their uniform quickly and efficiently.

Outcome

Following the installation, the new system is able to handle more than 3000 uniforms and has significantly increased the overall capacity of the uniform room.

Options for these conveyors range from fully-automated delivery systems using Staff ID cards, to simple storage conveyors, all of which increase productivity.

Feedback

“I can’t speak highly enough about our experience of Metalprogetti UK. The service was quick and efficient, the communication was impeccable and the team that arrived on site to install the machinery were incredibly professional. We ordered a Uniform Conveyor from Metalprogetti UK and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. The installation took place over a couple of days, which was a lot shorter than we were expecting. As a result, contractors working on the next phase of the project were able to start their work sooner than expected, and the project was completed ahead of schedule, reducing disruption at the hotel.

The conveyor system itself is extremely robust and works incredibly well, especially considering the volume of garments we have on the carousel. We and the whole IHG family very much look forward to working with Metalprogetti UK in the future. If you’re looking for a friendly and professional supplier with high quality machinery, look no further than Metalprogetti. Without a doubt, we would recommend them to anyone.”
